MP4 files will not play on BDP5200/12 from DLNA server or USB drive
Hi,
I can not get any MP4 files to play at all on my BDP5200 (software version 1.55) streamed from a DLNA Server or from a USB drive. I have tested both TVersity 1.93-1.97 and TVMobili version 2.1.0.3557 as the DLNA Server. For example all MP4-encoded files downloaded from the Finnish TVKaista-service will not play at all. Just says "unsupported video format".
AVI and MKV-files play fine from the same DLNA server or USB drive.
What can be the issue?
Here are some MediaInfo information of the MP4 files that won't play:

Do you think you need a high-speed USB drive to have this work? I haven't tried it though, but was thinking to buy one.

Does the file work when playing it from a disc?
At least variable framerates do not work, maybe same with the "Bit rate mode : Variable" you have there.

I have not tried playing the files from a disc. Now I found some MP4 files on the internet that the player actually plays through DLNA or a USB stick. To me the issue seems that BDP5200 has a very limited support of different kinds of MP4 files. As mentioned none of MP4 files that are created by the very popular TVKaista-tv service in Finland will play on the player. These files are played fine on the popular Western Digital WD TV Live. Has Phillips any plans to add support to more file formats in future firmware updates?
