46PFL8606 and Skype : how to ?
Hi all,
I have recently bought this LCD TV, it works perfectly, note that I had before an old 28'' CRT Wega from Sony, its the day vs the night
So far, I would like to communicate by Skype with my family who is far from me.
I have connected an USB Logitech Webcam, the device is read but I have a message which says "Device not reconnized" or some thing like that.
I have search on Google but I haven't found any answers about Skype and this TV.
Any chance to make it solved ?
Thanks a lot for your contributions.
Francois

Hi,
Where did you get the idea that your TV model was Skype compatible?
I hate to break it to you but only 2k12 TV's (the models that end up with "7": xxPFLxxx7x/xx) have this feature, either implementing Skype on the TV's sw (6000 series and above) or via a external Philips device such as an HTS or BDP. (Also only some 2k12 models)
Hope this info clarifies why you get such a message/behaviour.
Regards,

Hi,
Thanks for your answer, you're right no Skype on Philips TV before 2K12 series
I had a dream, I believed to find this option on Philips like it is on Sony TV.
I just hope that a new firmware should solve this function, but it's just a hope.
Kindly regards

In Philips Argentina web page says that smartTV 6000 series are Skype compatible and if you go to the link "mas detalles del producto" (more product details), the next page shows two models 40PFL6606d/77 and 32PFL6606D/77, this models are not 2012 models. And if you buy any one of this, neither have Skype, the advertisment in the official Philips website is really tricky, it´s a shame!!!. We hope Philips solve this with a new firmware.

Thanks for this information, right now I have just to wait for a new FW.

Ciao
