Joint Space deactivation?
I have enabled 'JointSpace' on my 40PFL 9705 using the code 5646877223 from the Philips Remote and it did indeed announce that JointSpace was enabled. This was to allow an Android Remote control App to control the TV. (Philips TV Remote 2k11). Actually it didn't work and since then I'm no longer able to update the TV's firmware by either 'over my network', (it says 'Philips server not found'), or by USB stick, the TV announces 'No readable files found'. I spent 45 minutes speaking to tech help who even tried to 'Push' the latest firmware but that failed too.
Do any of you clever people have a code to disable 'JointSpace' and return my TV to normal so I can update to the latest firmware as I'm falling behind.
Thanks in advance,
Pinky.

Hi,
deactivaion code is the same as activation - just enter the numbers again...
But I think this is not the origin of your problems...

Hi Toengel,
Thank you for your quick reply and I've de-activated 'Joint Space' for now.
You're quite right of course, Joint Space isn't the problem.
I've been particularly unlucky with my 9705. Periodically the sound would drop out. A firmware upgrade seemed to fix this problem but a couple of months later it started doing a re-boot cycle about every 6 minutes. My dealer swapped it out with a brand new 'out of the box' set. Then it was back to the sound drop out when connected to my Humax Foxsat HDR via HDMI. I connected the Foxsat via Scart (rather unsatisfactory) and the problem went away. There was another firmware update but the TV said I had the latest firmware. Trying to keep this short, a call to Philips customer support resulted in them sending me the latest firmware on a USB stick (F.O.C.). Further investigation by me showed there was a misprint in the downloadable file name giving it an earlier incept date than my installed firmware. The USB stick from Philips solved the problem.
Currently I'm on firmware Q553 0.140.39.0 and the latest firmware is Q553 0.140.48.0. I've downloaded the update and put it on a USB stick but the TV announces 'No readable files'. I added some JPG's and MP3's to the stick and they were read with no problem but the update sequence didn't start. I've tried a total of 5 USB sticks (including the Philip's one) and all with the same result - no go. (autorun.upg is in the root).
As for trying to upgrade via the Internet I get 'Philips server not found, try again later'.
The TV is definitely on my network as I can stream audio and video from my laptop. MAC scanning s/w identifies it at it's correct (static) IP address.
Interestingly enough I was sorting out a friends laptop yesterday and after about 15 minutes it announced 'Philips TV found'. Even more proof it's on my network.
Any thought as to why it can't find the Philips server?
Pinky.

Hello Philips moderator,
I want to buy a Philips 46PFL5007K/12. My question is if this TV supports the ARC option. On some sites that sell this product is stated that it does while on others don't.
Thanks

Hi,
just download the Product Spread Sheet on the TV webpage. And yes, one HDMI-Port has ARC.

Hello,
I can't find the Napster app on my Net TV. I understand from the list that Napster is not available on the 40PFL8606K/02. Why is that? Will that change anytime soon?
I think about buying a HTB9550D/12. Would I be able to use the Napster app through this Home Entertainment System?
Thanks for a quick reply!

Hello,
a little question. My TV 37PFL8605H/12, doesn't play AC3 sound format. Will be a software release that would solve this situation, or it isn't possible because the TV hasn't the Hardware for it?
Thanks!

from which source are you trying to play AC3?

Have a 46PFL9706K/02 for more than 1 year now, it is connected to a DVB-C network. I always have installed s/w upgrades as soon as they become available / released.
From the beginning this "High-End" TV reboots itself at random moments, sometimes it works just fine for days and sometimes it restarts itself 2x in one evening. What you see then is that the screen turns competely black & no audio/sound and after a few seconds the video returns, unfortunately all PVR/USB-HDD recordings are lost (we use this function to pause program).
NetTV is horribly slow just like the Internet EPG which of does not even work. My home network is NOT the problem since other devices are working fine.
It seems as if Philips has stopped s/w bug fixing or providing new s/w releases for this model
I'm not happy!

Hi,
I think all 2012 NetTV models are missing on the list. For instance, among others, I cannot see the EISA awarded 46PFL9707S. Can you update the list accordingly?
Thanks,

Can someone please explain to me the difference between a philips 46PLF7007 and 46PLF7007H? At the store is the 7007 version € 200.00 more expensive than the 7007H version.
I am also curious about your opinion on this television
