a quick question about the different models:
    e.g.
    37PFL8605H/12
    37PFL8605H/60
    37PFL8605K/02
    37PFL8605M/08

what is the H and K (or M) for?
and what is the number a the end?
i would like to know if there any major differences between these models.
    thanks in advance.

Lightbulb Explanation of Philips TV model numbering.

The H/xx, M/xx, K/xx, etc. are indications for different executions of a certain model.
The /12, /60, /02, etc. are indications for different market regions.

    • C= Customisable version (design your own TV)
    • D/05 = DVB-T UK
    • D/10 = DVB-T whole Europe
    • D/12 = DVB-T continental Europe (excl. UK & IRL)
    • D/77 = Digital Argentina
    • D/78 = Digital Brazil
    • H/05 = MPEG-4 DVB-T/C UK
    • H/10 = MPEG-4 DVB-T/C whole Europe
    • H/12 = MPEG-4 DVB-T/C cont. Europe (excl. UK & IRL)
    • H/60 = MPEG-4 DVB-T/C Russia
    • K/02 = MPEG-4 DVB-T/C/S2 (Satellite DACH)
    • M/08 = MHP MPEG-4 DVB-T/C Italy
    • T/12 = DVB-T2 UK, Sweden, Finland, Norway

    Example: 32PFL9705H/60
    • 32 = Screen size indicator (32 inch),
    • PFL = Product category code (Philips Flat LCD TV),
    • 9705 = Product model number range
    • H = Option/feature code (MPEG-4 DVB-T/C)
    • /60 = Market region indicator (Russia)

    Hello there, another quick questions...
Please, what is the difference between models 32PFL7605H/12 and 32PFL7685H/12?
I can see one, Perfect Natural Motion in 7605 vs HD Natural Motion in the other models.
Is there any other significant difference? Which one is better?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards,
    F.

    Hello.

Indeed the most important difference between the 7605 and 7685 is the perfect natural motion for the 7605 and HD natural motion for the 7685.
The 7685 is only sold at Euronics and has some differences in the model styling.
I can't tell you what is best, as picture quality is very personal. I advise you to go to the shop and compare the models next to each other.

    With kind regards,

    Philips NetTV moderator.

    Hi,

thanks.... What I don't understand is why the 58PFL9955 is labeld as h/12 in Germany cause there is also a S2 tuner inside... so it should be labeld as k/02... ;-)

    Regards,

    Toengel@Alex

I know, Philips' ways are sometimes inscrutable....
But yes, in principle you are correct. However there were some very good (marketing) reasons to do it like this, which I can not further explain. But don't be afraid, you have the correct TV and it is, and I'm sure you agree, a great device!

    Hi,

I agree - I paid for the TV... however, the TV would be greater if all reported bugs (see 140.25 experience thread) will be fixed as soon as possible...

    Best regards,

    Wink 40PFL8605K/02 vs 40PFL8605M/08

    Maybe you can help me..
    1) FIRST:

as explain the different between the M and K is
MHP (Interactive DTT) only in the M model
    DTV-S2 on K Model (Dutch)
    ..right?

If i use the K model in Italy, and I've a Satellite can I see the DTV-S2 channel? or not?

    2) SECOND:

in the 40PFL8605M/08 with DLNA or USB I can see an MKV files with AC3 AUDIO.. but the DTS audio is not supported..

If I've a 5.1 audio system can I connect the coaxial digital output to my system and so see the video on philips and the sound on the audio system?

    sorry for my poor english...

    thanks a lot!

    bye bye

    Dear ciki22,
Net TV is currently only available on the HTS9xxx series (mentioned at the beginning of this post).
It will NOT become available via a FW upgrade on other models.

Hi kassyman2, according the leaflet you need two things:
    * Philips Wi-Fi USB adaptor WUB1110 required (sold separately) for wireless access. Note: Can also be wired via the built-in LAN connector.
** Net TV software available for download from www.philips.com/support.
I think that this particular Net TV SW is not available yet, but I will check this and reply asap. Did you buy the WiFi adapter?

    Update 29-Dec-2010:
    - The special Net TV SW for your Bluray player will be released in Januari 2011.
    - The Philips Wi-Fi USB adaptor WUB1110 is only necessary for "wireless" access. You can also connect "wired" via the built-in LAN connector.

    Update 20-Jan-2011:
The special Net TV SW for your Bluray player BDP5100 is ready. We are currently in the process of uploading it to our websites. It should be everywhere available in 1 - 2 days.

    Release Note V1.53:
This software upgrade* enables you to enjoy Philips NetTV online services.
(*) For future software upgrades from v.1.53, please download the future software versions from www.philips.com/support site only & upgrade your player via USB.
