DCM580 does not charge Iphone IOS 5.1.1

Hi, I got a brand new sound tower (DCM580) from a local philips dealer. When I was in the shop, I tested my iphone 4s with the device and it was working fine. When I unpacked a brand new set at home, it was charging my device for 5 minutes while playing to the music - everything was perfect. I started to play with volume, options, switching sources etc and after removing the phone and putting it back, iphone does not charge anymore.

Checked with Iphone 4s, 4g and ipod shuffle, all running latest available ios (5.1.1).

I checked my tower's software version and it seems that it is V45.

Should I return the tower to the dealer or is there a magic button combination to enable charging?

Checking our comparability list (attached), it is written that with iOS5.1.1, your iPhone 4S, iPod 4G should be compatible with the playback as well as charging after technical enhancement (i.e. FW upgrade to v.45).


Please check again if you are using v.45 by the below steps:

1. Turn on the player.
2. Press “Power” button on top of the device to enter Standby mode.
3. Hold “Source” button for more than 3 seconds and then press “play/pause”.
Note: Make sure you don’t release the “Source” button when you press “play/pause”.
4. The firmware version will be displayed on your player.


If you are using v.45 already, please try
1) Resetting your iPhone/ iPod by holding the power button and the home button simultaneously until it goes to restart
2) Disconnecting your player by 30 mins and retry again

Kindly advise your testing results.

I checked the version, it displays M with some numbers, then it rewinds to 10/26 V45:



Tried resetting my phone, disconnecting the device for a week, still the same: it plays, it works fine, but no charging.
Should I return it to the dealer asking for a repair?
