Can't upgrade firmware on 55pfl7606t
Hi,
I'm trying to update the firmware, to v0.14.98.0 using the USB method. I still have the original firmware that came with the TV (Q5551-0.10.105.0). I've downloaded the file "55pfl7606t_12_fus_dan.zip" and extracted it to my FAT32 formatted USB device.
When i plug the USB into the TV it starts the update process automatically, but it fails on the validation check. It simply states the update could not be completed. Please remove USB and restart.
This is rather annoying. Help please.Last edited by MartinC81; 05-27-2012 at 01:33 PM. Reason: Corrected firmware version

Hi,
what happens if you try to update your TV via Internet method?
Try to reformat your stick again, extract again and try to cut TV power for 2-3...

Hi, and thanks for all the replies.
Pardon my inactivity, but I haven't been home for a few weeks. Also it's my parents TV.
Unfortunately, updating through the Internet isn't an option... parents... old... etc. Not to worry though as I found another solution
I solved it by using an older 1GB USBdrive, and everything went smoothly. I previously used a newer 32GB USB3 compatible drive, which the TV does recognize... since we use it for pictures to be shown on the TV, but apparently it wasn't ideal for updating.
So in the future, if others have this issue, it might be because the USB-pen isn't old enough basically. And it's not because of the formatting... I tried fat32, ntfs and exFat. Also tried various reboots and other malarkey before I even got to this forum.
So large USB-drives might be a no-go. Tell people to use the shitty ones
Cheers.
