Sound out of sync / delayed after purchase of Philips TV ?
Hi.
I have a 42PFL4606H/12 with the newest FW installed.
My problem is that the sound/picture is out of sync .
I have a Samsung digital set topbox and a LG dvd player and also a Panasonic surround reciever for audio playback (TV / DVD sound)
Both units(samsung/LG) are connected to the TV with HDMI cables.
I have a COAX cable going from the TV COAX Output to a COAX input in my Panasonic reciever so all sound is send to the reciever.
But the sound and picture don´t sync.
The sound is ahead of the picture,so it looks like the TV can´t "keep up" with the sound.
I´ve tried the option in TV setup to enable/disable delay but it´s still the same...
I´ve also tried to connect my units directly to the Panasonic surround reciever, so there´s no sound send from the TV to reciever..but it´s also the same..sound/picture don´t sync.
The previous TV I had was a old Sony Bravia 42" LCD(5 years+) and was using the EXACT same equipment and there was NO PROBLEMS WITH SOUND/PICTURE SYNC !!!
The problem has occured when I purchased the Philips TV.
Any clue what to do ?

Hi.
I have the same problem with my recently purchased 42PFL7456H12, though I am not using any HTS, or receiver for audio playback, just the speakers of the TV.
I have upgraded to the latest firmware, but it didn't make any difference.
I understand that this is caused by the 600Hz motion processing, but Philips, please tweek some more on the firmware because this is a very frustrating problem with an otherwise great product!

It is normal that the picture is delayed by the TV, that is inherent to the motion-compensated processing. This is why the audio is delayed by the TV too, so that they are in sync again. Also the digital audio output from the TV is delayed, so if you connect that to an external amplifier then picture and sound should be in sync again. If not, then please look in any of the 3 parts for a setting for audio delay, it might be mis-adjusted ? Or else it might indeed be a firmware error of the TV.

Thanks for that hint.
Of course the TV signals will be delayed by all that enternal processing and of course the picture and sound can only be sync at one receiver.
I found only one item where to switch sound delay on or off.
Mine was off, under Home, adjustments, preferred adjustments, sound delay.
Put it to On and I believe it's better then before with off.
can you point out the other two parts ?any of the 3 parts for a setting for audio delay
And does anyone know the delay time between Delay On/Off ?

I've checked the option with sound delay on/off. Can't see/hear any difference when looking any channel.
But I'd like to add new items on the matter.
I found this delay different depending on the channel selected.
Currently RTL HD both are synchron. (Sound delay off)
Currently ZDF HD the sound delays to piture for about half a second. (Sound delay off or on makes no difference.

Is there anything new on this matter? I also see that video and audio of both my analogue and digital channels are out of sync. The enable/disable delay option in the setup screen is no good - that is, it doesn't solve the problem completely. Though the delay is below 1 second, I always notice it, whatever I'm watching.
Please Philips, make something more for this problem. My tv is 42PFL4307H/12.
I've purchased the tv before two days and installed the most recent update, available through the net.
Is it possible for the problem to be solved by local support offices, or it's a matter of future software updates?Last edited by 42PFL4307H/12; 12-28-2012 at 02:16 PM.

don´t think so...you can see I´ve posted my problem in May 2012 and not a single answer or similar from them.
If i had the money i would buy a other TV and send this to the scrapyard !!
Apperantly Philips don´t give a fuck about their customers OR they simply don´t know how to fix it!!
