TV doesn't recognize usb disk
Hi,
I have a 47PFL7606H TV and a 500GB USB 2.5 external disk (imation) but they don't want to play together.
When I plug in the disk nothing happens, however if I plugin a 4GB usb flash it starts listing the contents.
I tried formatting the disk in fat, exfat, ntfs, partitions with only 1GB...and nothing works.
How can I solve this and use my USB hd?

Hi,
does the HDD spin up, when you connect it to you TV. Put your hand on the HDD and try to "feel" some vibration.
Maybe, the HDD need more power to spin up... try with external power supply for the HDD.

Solved.
The USB cable was not adequate.
Using the cable provided with the disk works.
Thanks,
Marco

The Tv won't recognize HDD as valid for formatting
Hi,
I have a 46PFL6626T Tv which Works great, it has softwarepack: 000.014.098.000
My issue is that the tv doesn't accept the HDD I attempt to use as USB recording devices.
I've used IDE drives with adapter using separate power supply. They Work fine playing back files, but the TV refuses to format them for use of recording.
I've tried a Maxtor 320GB ATA/HDD. I've formatted it to FAT32 and tried both master and slave jumping, but I always get the message that the hard disk can't be used when it's about to be formatted by the TV.
I also tried a Maxtor 160GB PATA133HDD, a Maxtor 300GB PATA133 HDD, and a 16GB USB stick but none work.
Btw the exact message is Formatting failed. This type of hard drive cannot be used. Use another type of
USB hard drive
Best regards Jakob
