MCi8080 - Refreshing database, playlist formats and extension cables
Got a new MCi8080 for Christmas and I love it, but I have to confess some niggles are bugging me that I hope someone can help with....
1. Is there an extension cable available to allow more space between the main unit and the disc player (e.g. so they can be positioned side by side instead of in a vertical arrangement?) I've tried a standard DVI cable (which is what I think it is) but had no luck.
2. Is there a way to trigger a database refresh manually without having to turn the unit off then on again? I've been trying to get playlists to work, and the only way I can add new material / playlists over the network seems to be to add it, reboot the unit, then wait half an hour (at least) while it scans the HDD and refreshes the database. Is this normal?
3. Can someone post an example of a playlist that works on the MCi8080? I've read the other posts on the issues, and think I've tried all the combinations of absolute and relative file addresses I can think of. Can someone share a couple of lines that work on their system please so I can see where I'm going wrong?
Would really love it if the iOS app worked as well too, but that's a minor annoyance...
Thanks in advance for any help / suggestions!

Hi craig,
For your questions:
1) As far as I know there is none, maybe take the cable to some specialised shop and check but its not a "normal cable"
2) How did you create your playlist?
3) Will do when back home again from my xmas holidays ok
Thanks

Many thanks for the quick response and offer of help!
Hmmmm, may have to buy a new hifi cabinet now to fit it in!
Playlists - I've tried a couple of ways - direct from itunes, and manually edited. I've also tried both ways of getting them on the system - direct to the hard disk plugged into the PC and via the network. No luck either way.

Hi !
For #3 : Relative paths works 100% for me. I use it a lot. (My Playlists are in the .pls format).
Will test too see if I have some good answer for your #2 question.
Cheers !
