37pfl4606h/58 picture bug
Hello,
I bought the 37PFL4606H/58 like 2 months ago and so far i love it, looks great satisfies my needs for HD movies and everything, but there is a bug in the picture that bothers me a lot every day. So, i will try to explain how the bug looks like.
When i play movies via USB, on some of them not on all, there is like interference or distortion in the picture not sure how to explain it exactly but its a bug in the picture.... small squares appear in the picture it looks like bad graphics and it lasts like few seconds only... (for example when i watch Game of Thrones i always get that bug during the beginning song part of the episodes). Has anyone had this problem ? Does anyone know whats causing it and how to fix it ?
Please help if anyone knows anything about this problem because it bothers me too much i cannot watch a good movie in peace im always looking for those squares to appear...

I don't really know what do you mean by how large videos i play... Like resolution large ? I play all kinds of resolutions from 360p, 480p to 1080p... I cannot say that I've seen that bug only on 1 of these.... happened on too many different movies...

Hi Zlate,
I guess the "squares" are macroblocks.
These can appear when the datastream has to many errors or interruptions.
What kind of USB device do you use? Did you check that the transfer speed is sufficient?
If it is an HDD, does it have an external power supply?
Best regards,
Leen

Hi Benedickte
I took a video from the bug i was explaining, I hope you can see it in the picture (took the video with a mobile phone camera, sorry for the bad quality).
To help you out you can see the bug exactly on 0:19 - 0:22, again on 0:25 - 0:29 and again around 0:35 a small interference appears on the girls arm in the movie.
If its needed I will take few more videos for you.
Please let me know what is your opinion on this problem.

Hi Benedickte
I am not sure what type is the USB I don't really know what you mean by what type is the USB but I can tell you that it's a 4GB SanDisk Cruzer Pattern. I have tried some of the movies that cause this problem with other USB devices but I still see the problem.
Also I have tried a movie (that causes problems on my TV) with my USB on my friends LG LK450 TV but didn't see any problems there...
I haven't tried any other source than USB because the guy at the store specifically told me that the PFL4606H/58 does not support an external hard disk. Is this wrong information?
Thank you

Hi Zlate.
Thank you for your patience. I would appreciate if you could answer the following question:
1. Where did you copy the file from?
2. have you tried to watch this file on the PC?
a. Is it the same problem there?
b. have you tried streaming from PC to TV via HDMI/ VGA cable?
c. and is it any difference?
3. What is the format of this file?
4. could you please upload a part of the file here that is from original source( example PC).
Thank you

Hi,
I will try to answer your questions:
1. I got the movie from a friend it is a .mp4 BR Ripped file.
2. I watched the whole movie on the PC as well, actually I can see that problem on this scene only on the PC as well I think that this is an error in the Ripping process or in the movie, but however I don't see the other smaller bugs that appear on the picture while playing the movie on the TV (I uploaded this scene because the bug was the strongest on this part of the movie).
I still haven't tried to watch movies from PC to TV via HDMI or VGA cables.
3. The video format is H.264/MPEG-4 AVC in a .mp4 file i will upload a picture from Properties>Details on the file.
4. Now since I can see the same problem on that part of the movie on the PC as well do you want me to take a video of other parts where i can see the bug on the TV but not on the PC and upload both ?
This bug happens on maybe half of the movies that I watch on the TV, I took example of this movie because it was the last that I watched before I posted this problem on the forum.
If you need anything else let me know
Thank you
