Sync problem with sound/video-image on 42PFL7606H/12
Hi,
I've just purchased a 42PFL7606H/12 HDTV together with a HTS5561 blue-ray with 5.1 sound system. Brilliant image and sound. But...
When playing a movie (AVI) from the network thru DLNA or from a USB drive attached to the TV then the sound and video-image are seriously out of sync (about 2 seconds). However, when I attach the same USB drive to the HTS5561 sound system and play the movie from there, or when I stream the movie to the HTS5561 over the network, or when I play a blue-ray in the HTS5561, then sound and video are perfectly in sync...
Worse even, when looking carefully you sometimes can even see some slight out-of-sync symptoms when looking at live TV (a fraction of a second, but sometimes it's noticeable)... Needless to say, when I watch the same channel on another TV then sound and video are perfectly synched.
The lag between sound and video got less when I upgraded the firmware from 0.14.95.0 to 0.14.98.0 but it's still noticeable (I'd say the lag is about 1 second now).
It appears the TV does lack in power for processing the video + audiostream, although the firmware upgrade does nothing for the CPU but decreased the problem.
I've connected TV and BlueRay/Soundsystem using HDMI 1.4 cables, and both are connected by wire to the network on a 1Gbps switch. Also, there is a Cisco PVR from UPC present, also connected on HDMI 1.4 cable.
Does anyone have ideas for me?
I love the set, but not in this state...Last edited by DeSchreut; 06-19-2012 at 09:16 PM. Reason: Cosmetics

Hi,
This issue should be solved with the latest software update 0.14.98.0, however if you experience a delay in the audio signal from the audio system, verify if the digital audio lipsync feature in the [Setup] > [TV settings] > [Preferences] > [Audio Out delay] is set to ON mode.
Regards,

Patch 0.14.98.0 did not fully do the trick...
Marco thanks.
Reading the description of this patch I had hoped this would resolve the issue. Although the difference in sync got less there's still an annoying difference between audio and video. And before posting this topic I experimented a lot, also with the lip-sync parameter, both before and after applying the new firmware.
Does anyone have additional ideas?

Hello,
Since the television is updated to the latest software available, could you please check the Home Theatre settings and update your HTS5561 to the latest firmware.

Update home theater settings?
Marco, do you really think that this would change anything in my TV?
The TV even has the out-of-sync problem when the home theater is physically disconnected, so it is a proven fact that the problem exists solely in the TV.
If I now start upgrading my Home Theater set I only risk messing up the only part of the combination that works without problems, so I will definitely not do that, even it should make some sense which in my humble opinion it does not.

Hello
I also purchased a 42PFL7606H/12 and have audio sync problems. In my case the tv initially had no problems with the audio sync but on updating to the latest firmware update all the tv channels became out of sync. Turning on or off the audio out delay setting does not rectify the issue and i read here in Philips support that installing an older version of the firmware is unadvised and also not covered by the Philips warranty, however this seems to me to be the best solution as the tv was fine when i purchased it. Is there any other way to get back to my original firmware please?
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul.
First i want to welcome you to our forum.
Could you please provide me with following information:
Could you please confirm what software version you have?
What have you connected to your tv? and how? ( HDMI/Scart etc)
Where does the sound come from? TV speakers/ sound system?
What devices does the audio sync issues happen on and how often?
