Stuttering WiFi stream DLNA from Windows7 pc

Hello,

When playing a (low definition) file from my computer on my bdp8000 it starts to stutter, like it has no buffer to stream the file.
It is in a wireless 54mbit network hosted by a Cisco (or Linksys) router. The source of the file is a laptop run by WIndows7.

Is a 54mbit network not fast enough to even stream low-res (500*300) video or is there something else wrong?
Any help will be appreciated!

it seems to me that it the network issue.
if you stream a song, is there any stuttering?
if you watch youtube/ netTv, is there any issue?

Yes maybe/probably it is but I don't know what the problem could be. Isn't 54mbit fast enough to stream video? Should I set specific settings on my router for this to work properly?
I can watch youtube/netTV/songs without stuttering.

54mbit should be ok. so would like to check if there's any issue with your network.
try streaming just a song (a smaller file) to see if there s stuttering...

Just to be sure the case is clear; It can't be an internet problem since I'm streaming a local file from my computer to my bdp8000.

I have no idea what's the problem.
I've tried two computers, both have the same problem.
When streaming a video file the network utilization for my wireless connection does not go above 3%;


Further information; If it stutters and I pause the video for 20 seconds, it runs good after I start playing it again.
Everything points at the datatransfer not being fast enough. The big question is, what is the limitation in my setup..

Dear user,

Looking into your issue here, it seems that it is your router (wireless connection) that matters instead of your network itself.
Could you please try eliminating the other wireless devices and have a try? You can also send through a video clip that's with low resolution to us so that we can test that in our side.

I will try the same test with only the bdp8000 connected via WiFi.
Depending on this result I will share a sample video.

So, I've disconnected all devices from my network, leaving only the bdp8000 and my laptop (as the source of streaming) connected;


Still the video takes a very long time to start playing and within 5 minutes I had to pause it 3 times due to stuttering.

I was so free to download this and have tested. In the beginning was a bit strange but after some seconds all worked ok. Have tested though with Vista and will try later with windows 7 also.

You have latest fw installed no?

For the bdp8000 I have, it's running on FW 1.63. The problem isn't in the source either, I used two computers (both WIN7) to stream.
Maybe my router isn't fast enough to transfer the data? It is a bit old (Linksys WRT54G) but I thought it should be still okay.
