FAULT: Colour Distortion on Philips LCD TV
Hi
We have a Philips LCD TV.
Model 32PFL5403D/10
Serial VN2C0829020801
However, we have a problem with this television. Sometimes this problem is unnoticeable, possibly non existent. Sometimes the problem is extremely bad and makes TV watching almost impossible.
The fault is basically with the picture. The colours in the picture become distorted. It is most noticeable in two instances:
1. On human faces
2. On large areas of solid colour (e.g. a blue sky, or a green football pitch).
What is happening is that the colours become quite pastel-like, and sometimes other colours will show where they shouldn't. For example, redish, or bright white colours will appear in human faces, or in a black night sky.
The best comparison I can think of is if you have ever seen the Keanu Reeves movie A Scanner Darkly, it has a very distinctive animation style. If you Google it, you will see still images of scenes from the film.
The problem with our TV makes the picture look extremely like the film A Scanner Darkly, particularly human faces.
We have tried to play around with the scart and HDMI connections but this has not been successful. The problem is occuring via more than one scart connection and more than one HDMI cable coming from more than one source (both a DVD player and a sky box).
Thank you very much for any help you can provide us with
