I am not sure (being a noobie) where I should post a question, so I thought that I would introduce myself and then ask it here and hopefully either someone might help me or the Powers That Control might move this to the place it belongs.

A couple of years ago, I purchased a Philips VOIP8551B26 telephone for her to use but she could never seem to get the unit to work and she put it away and now uses a portable and I have just installed the VOIP in my cubbyhole / shop. The SKYPE is working fine, but I haven't been able to set up the POTS part of it. It could me a matter of semantics or just my incomprehension of how to accomjplish this feat. When I try to set it up, it is asking me for the Area Code (which here in French Polynesia is 689 Then it asks me for the prefix which I believe is my telephone number as I am not familiar with this set up I would very much appreciate it if someone might help... My local telephone number dialed from the USA would be 011 689 66 XX XX but being in French Polynesia or on our island I would dial 66 XX XX for almost all the telephones here in Raiatea
