BDP3100/98 won't accept the latest firmware upgrade
Hi All,
I tried to upgrade to the latest firmware upgrade for the BDP3100/98 released on 06/21/2012 via USB port but I always get the error message "Software Registration Failed, please insert correct software". I've already followed all troubleshooting steps provided on the instruction document on the download link but I'm still getting the same message. I've done firmware upgrades before with no problems. Help please...
Thanks

Hi,
try to redownload the firmware - be sure you have the right stroke version /98.

Hi Toengel,
I've re-download the firmware and it does show the correct stroke version but I'm still getting the same error.

Hi,
only to be sure: the BIN file is in a subfolder UPG_ALL on your empty stick (FAT formatted)?

Yes it is. I've tried all possible suggestions on the "readme". I never had this issue before when I perform firmware upgrades... could there be a problem with the new firmware?

Hi,
Before upgrade your BDP make sure that there are no other UPG or UPG_ALL folders in your USB stick. The best way is to format your USB first...

Copy the extracted folder with the firmware file to the root directory in the USB flash drive.
Make sure there is no disc in the tray.
Maybe perform a factory reset?

Dear both,
After investigation, we found that there are some issues with the uploading. We will upload that again ASAP. Menawhile, I have sent a PM to you regarding the workaround. Please kindly check your inbox.
With thanks & regards,

Hi All,
is there in the meantime any update? I stuck here with the same problem. Get the same error message with 5 different USB sticks (YES! I formatted them before)
My BDP3100/98 has the Software version 1.30
Ow, btw. update via Internet I just trying and still not work with the message like no available update found.
If there really a work around so please enlighten me.
Thanks

Hi users,
After upzipping the file, you have a folder named UPG_ALL. Inside the folder, there are 2 .bin files. Please kindly rename the BDP3100_S_B.Bin to BDP3100_S_A.Bin. Kindly let us know the results.
We will meanwhile ask the corresponding colleague to re-upload the file. Thanks.
Kind regards,
