BDP5200 dlna mp3 embedded albumart
I use my BDP5200 to play my music archive through dlna. All songs are mp3 and I discovered to my joy that the BDP5200 supports showing embedded albumart, at least in some cases. Some are displayed, some are not
I have elaborated with different resolutions and jpg-compressions, but haven't been able to determine what the exact limitation is
I cant't find any info on this in the tech-specs or anywhre else...

Tachchen,
try to investigate which ID3-Tag version is used on these files.

@Toengel: Well, they are all ID3v2.3 tags.
I think I have narrowed it down to filesize! Testing with an image 455x455x24bit saved with different compressions giving different file sizes reveals that 60kB is a GO but 100kB is a NOGO! I'll continue to find the EXACT limit and also if there is a resolution limit, even if it's pointless to increase res. at the cost of higher compression ratio to maintain filesize!
I dicovered a plugin (RIOT) in Irfanwiew that lets you specify a filesize on save and it apparently sets the comression ratio accordingly. Very handy in this case. I'll get back with more info when I have it!

I recommend the free application Mp3Tag. Simply the best there is, and it's FREE
There are several more apps to manage ID3 tags, Winamp is another one.

Ok, I've pinned down the filesize limit to 60kB! That is, 60 kB works but 70kB don't! Resolution doesn't seem to matter, though I havent tested greater than 600x600. Anyway it seems pointless to have a res greater than 500x500. So what I'm gonna do is to resize and resave all album art using Irfanview and set res to 500x500 and filesize to 60 kB. Thank god Irfanview supports batch operaions
Then I,m gonna use MP3Tag to switch all embedded album art to the new working images. Could take a while, but it's worth the effort in the end!
