USB problems 7605H
Dear moderator,
On 8 October I installed the new firmware Q5521-0.140.11.0 for a 7605H. When looking a movie via USB the image is less fluent than it was before. It looks like the framerate has changed. At least I assume this is the case. I've tried several movies. Is there any possibility to downgrade to the previous firmware version? I really want to try the previous version to see if this makes a difference.
Thanks a lot.
Kindest regards,
daL

Hi there,
what exactly do you mean with "less fluent"? Are we talking about something like sporadic judder effects or is this phenomenon visble all the time?
Is it possible for you to post the video parameters of one affected file (you can read out those by using MediaInfo or something similar)? You see, in your initial post there's no indication what content you are actually using and how the file's been made up.
I guess that should help the mods to see what's wrong.

I upgraded my 37PFL7605H to the new firmware Q5521-0.140.11.0 and now I experience the same problem described by daL (quite frequent judder effects). Until now I tried with a divx movie only, so I think it is too soon for me to be sure that it is a problem introduced by the new firmware, but I am sure that before I never noticed something similar with a divx on this TV set.

I have exactly the same problem on my 32PFL7605. I instaled Q5521-0.140.11.0 version of software and when i play any kind of video media after few seconds picture starts to do something that can compare with vibrating, and sound and picture become unsincronised. I instaled new firmware because i have had a problem with playing mpeg-4 format, after 10 minutes exactly the same things as now started to happen and i thought that firmware update will solve the problem but it didn't in fact now any video does that, before only one video was vibrating.

more details
l00pu5 - thanks for your response. Also Philips send me a kind email with the question to send a movie or part from it to make a better investigation possible. The thing is that when I cut 10 seconds from the movie (not converting to another format) to send over, that part won't have got the problem! Best would be to try 30 sec, 1 min, 5 min, 10 min etc, to detect at what length the problem arises. Unfortunately I don't have got that time. The movies I tried are between 1-1,5 hour. My original proposal was to simply install the previous firmware to check if this a new problem ...
How can 'less fluent' be described? It looks like frames are missing. About every 1,5 second a fraction of image information is missing and playing happens a little faster then. However this is minimal, my kids can watch the movie and won't complain.
More properties of one of the particular movies:
.AVI file
MPEG4 (DivX/XviD compatible)
resolution 640x352
bitrate 2394 kbps
framerate 25 fps
Is there anybody out there who by coincidence has got the previous firmware?? Tnx, daL
UPDATE: I just installed the latest firmware Q5521_0.140.23.0.
Checked the trouble movies and the problem has been solved.
Philips thanks!!Last edited by daL; 10-30-2010 at 04:08 PM. Reason: Improvement in latest firmware: Q5521_0.140.23.0
