Videoland Videostore also available for 2009-models?
Will the Videoland Videostore also be available for the 2009-models? I read about the need for a sd-card while using Videostore. I can't use that on my 9704, but why can't you use a USB-stick as well?
I have a 2010 model and with this model you can access the videoland store with an USB-stick.
Sorry, Videostores are not foreseen for the 2009 models. (Beside memory management, data encryption is involved).
Hi I'm also one of the owners of a 2009 TV with NetTv. I'm realy interested in buying films directly through my TV. Is the data encryption and memory management an unsolvable prolem?
Can imagine it will increase market share for this new service a lot. The buyers op the 2009 TV's with NetTv (mostly with focus on nice high tech gadgets) wont replace the TV they bought last year for a 2010 model to watch films.
Being honest I think you also are aware the Secure Digital encryption (or any else) can be done without that chip. Philips tv's firmware hasn't been cracked and shared to public (you are safe).

There are already video services made by some companies for 2009 models and they work (country limited services).
We already have an USB 2.0 port and the tv uses a Linux with all the freeware software inside, plus the closed source ones (made by philips). So the encrypted video buffer is very possible and rather easy to write.
The Video Store code is possible to write for 2009 models, but I think Philips is also so selfish that it will rather release a new model than support older models.
From a customer aspect many of us will start avoiding such a "quality" service and start searching for a better company that are loyal to it's customers.
