audio optical output format 2011 devices
I have a 42PFL7606K, and I thing It has something MUST to be solved, because all other brands allow to choose: OPtical output bypass audio format from the input, and does NOT allow to choose between multichannel or STEREO PCM output... so, I amNOT able to connect it to my STEREO HIGH-END digital processor....
I see the newer 2012 models ALLOW to do this, so, I think this is a firmware issue, and could be implemented in 2011 models. I ask PJILIPS for doing it, because I believe hardware is capable... only a firmware update, please.
Thank you

PNX85537 has a Audio DSP built in, and its udio DACS output stereo signal for headphones ect. I do not understand why not output stereo PCM signal by digital output... I think this item can be implemented by a firmware update.

Philips doesn't usually offer updates on old models, but I guess there is something we could do here. It is possible that you need a certain cable to make this work.

Hi Tiomiguel
You can choose the audio format by going in to the TV menu under Home -> Setup -> Channel Selections -> Language -> Preferred audio format -> Standard or Advanced.
Standard = PCM Mpeg2 audio format will be select as priority.
Advanced = Dolby digital (AC3) audio format will be select as priority.
Best Regards
