AE2012 dab radio, volume problem/fault

Just purchased this radio and I cannot figure out the volume control. When selected I can only decrease the volume, when it gets to zero on the sound bar the only option is to switch off and on again when it resets to a mid position, which frankly isn’t loud enough. Do I have a faulty unit or am i just missing something?

I have finally sussed this with the help of a friend. I was repeatedly pressing the buttons, thinking they were multi purpose when in fact you need to press the touch pads above and below the buttons for some functions. The operating instructions do not make this clear at all and in my opinion they need to be much more detailed and explain. The problem is the unit has buttons and touch pads, I would have thought one or the other to save confusion. Anyway works well now I know how to operate it!
