I just tested.
It looks like the branches are in the water, not in original. Again lack of sharpness.
However I don't like that reference video. I think the original, on PC for instance, is not perfect. I should have seen that before.
For instance you can see the moss is blinking (refreshed) every half seconds roughly. This means the camera, or encoder, did a bad job already.
So, I wouldn't take this as reference myself. I think we have to make sure reference is clean.
The bird video is best to test. The birds almost disappear in trees, and artifacts can be seen (not as in original).
I looked at a few other sources again... As usual, I like still images, they look clean (even SD is okay), but when motion occurs I can do nothing but see imperfections and un-natural moves.
This is HDUM to me.

Here we are, over 300 posts and 30'000 views....
and not even the slightest technical feedback from Philips.

I'm not convinced about water. It goes too fast for me and usually looks okay. Get a clip with zebras... really !
1080p video does not tell much about bitrate or fps, this can make the difference. When you see the output of youtube of a 1080p vidéo.... really bitrate is more important than number of pixels.
I found 3 videos that provide all artifacts/Dirty effects that I hate. Home page here.
If you don't agree with those, then we don't have the same TV (maybe electronics can be different, who knows).
Vidéo 1 : Urban Acrobat (Philips section). WORST effects, those that I don't like but always notice.
This has many unrealistic artifacts. When the guy runs, jumps (he has 4 legs), ... there's flickering and all. He runs and that doesn't feel natural. There's a halo around him.
What I don't like is also the scene in the street, with the guy with bicycle (there's a terrible panning, the scene collapses).
Edit : direct download link, same clip as on Demo World
Vidéo 2 : LED Motion (Samsung section)
Again bad artifacts all over, especially around parachute when above snow, the flying guys also flicker SO much, ... At one time you see one of their hands on the right side, it gets very blocky with a bad halo around it.
Edit : direct download link, same clip as on Demo World
Vidéo 3 : Air show (Philips section)
Artifacts in second part of the vidéo, when planes do fly. At least twice, there are REALLY bad & huge artifacts that go on forever.
Edit : direct download link, same clip as on Demo World
I will post results under youtube tomorrow (even if compression is huge, and thus not as visible as in reality).
MAKE YOUR OWN TEST. Please.
My 4th vidéo would be the bee movie clip, and 5th the vertical lines posted by Majorusa (who disappeared!)
Now some interesting part.
I thought these videos would be clean. Because unlike Bee Movies (framerate 24fps), those framerates were 60fps. So with this high framerate, I expected a good output.
My settings : picture normal and HDNM minimum.Last edited by Manuj; 11-16-2012 at 03:35 PM. Reason: direct download links

I will post vidéos tomorrow, but here are pictures of the artifacts in plane wings.
From original clip, the wings NEVER disappear in the clouds. The wings stay very clean all along the scene, but on Philips TV, they disappear behind artifacts.
Contrast is huge, so this should ease the algorithm decision.
The processing is just very very bad.
The Philips logo also had a bad time (but I have to make an image per image to get the worst of it).
The 2 photos are 1 second apart and wings coming back to normal in between (just to say I'm not cheating with a bad coding).
so reference video was giving those clean wings ALL TIME LONG.
Original vidéo is h264, mpeg4 AVC part10, 59.94 fps, was plug into USB port (just not to have an external media player).
Don't take attention to color differences since this was recorded with my camera.
The rest of my picasa album with artifacts (bad and reference pictures)Last edited by Manuj; 11-15-2012 at 09:22 PM.

This time I slowed down the clip. Original first, then TV output. (No, my 1080p 50fps Sony camera is OK, do your own test).
Clip link "urban acrobat" to be found in a previous post, you can find a low quality version on youtube (but better than TV output).

Again in slow motion, and last clip for today.
This is a referenced clip for Philips, I did not add the logo myself.
Test yourself.
Get the AIR SHOW clip (1080p, highest quality) on http://www.demo-world.eu/trailers/hi...n-trailers.php and do your own test.
HDNM is faulty.
Also notice that the logo is bad when artifacts happen elsewhere. So processing is not coping with data to be processed.
You can get a lower quality version here jump to 01:06

the 4 jets clip looks the same on 8007, also from 00:55-00:57 you can see the planes wings flicker. all processing off except PNM minimum.

@mrb1972 have you tried the Urban Acrobat clip ?
This has only fast moving scenes/objects. So we can see all the mess around.
But don't get me wrong, these artifacts are present all the time. Even kid animation movies (again Tinker Bell that my kids watched yesterday...).
Philips, will you ever reply and show us little respect, as well as have a professional behavior?
Will we get a fix ? (I seriously begin to doubt, it looks like a bad processor throughput) or should we forget about passive 3d (which was my personal reason to chose that TV, knowing the downside would be contrast.... but not artifacts/judder/flickering !)
I was not expecting such a bad video outcome, the image (still or slow motion) was/is okay for me.
To all, please keep posting comments to warn buyers reading review.
They have to know and make sure this is the TVs they will enjoy at home. Some can live with that, but others just shouldn't buy.

I was on elgiganten today and checked the picture again - when people walk on the street and moving swiftly half backs are wines and can see only half of it. hahah It's bad motion picture. If Philips is not understood than they sell television - aparat with moving images, not the photo viewer.
Those of you who are complaining should leave the TV back because it is clear that Philips can not fix the picture but they have taken the money and that's the most important thing for them. Too bad that other manufacturers have not ambilight .. And yes I will buy the tv with ambilight 3 when they fix the picture and when it goes under 1000 euros .. 1400 is over price
