BDP5100 reset when red LED is blinking
Dear Users,
my player has become unusable - hopefully temporarily.
An external HDD was attached via USB slot and a film was played. I've tried to stop playing by pressing appropriate button on remote control. There was no response and I simply removed the HDD plug from the slot. Till this action we cannot turn on the player: after plugging the power cord in, the red LED under main power button starts blinking and there is no response for pressing power button.
In my opinion a simple software reset could help to solve this problem, but don't have any idea how to do it. I've tried pressing the buttons parallelly on front panel in different combinations (there are only 4 buttons, so it wasn't too complicated), but without any result. If somebody has an idea for resetting the machine, please help! It isn't problem if the solution means some electrical intervention (e.g. to make short circuit somewhere inside...etc.).
Thank you for your help!
Best regards,
HvG

Would leave it unplugged a bit longer. Also maybe try unplugging -> press power button and replugg mains -> keep mains pressed for some seconds....

Thanks, but unfortunately it doesn't help. I've already tried to unplug for more days, maybe it would be enough for capacitors losing their charge. The second idea was tried, too - but without any result. After replugging (with pressed main button) the LED started blinking again. Button was pressed continuously for 1 minute after replugging.
