Your experiences with FW v133.x.x for 6xx7, 7xx7 and 8xx7 series (2012 models)
Hi all,
Please share your experiences with this new SW version here in this topic. Channeling your input will make it easier for users to search and find relevant info.
Remarks
- Due to the global IT structure, there might be a delay in the uploading/synchronising of new SW releases (and their release notes). Please, have a little patience if you cannot immediately see the new files on the support web pages and try 1 or 2 days later.
- IMPORTANT: After upgrading your TV, it is necessary to perform a "cold start": after the TV is running again (after the update), shut down the TV, wait 2 minutes (till all components are shut down), unplug the TV from the mains (pull power cord) for a few minutes before starting again.
- WARNING: Never downgrade from 133.x.x. back to 108.8.x! Version 132.5.1 contains a new Standby-Software which is not compatible with the firmware 108.8 (108.8 does not contain the old Standby-Software). If you downgrade, your TV won't start anymore and you need a service intervention!

First impressions:
- false new HDMI/YPbPr devices still detected, probably even more frequently
- still problems with dynamic backlight - some "blocks" are lighter than others, now it seems that it's just on a level of single block, not a bigger area as before. Probably related to switching from Smart TV back to normal TV.
- HbbTV with Czech TV works finally!

When viewing the video service YouTube begins to slow down somewhere after 1 minute. And if you click OK again to show normally starts about one minute. Then again, the brakes!
With the internet there is no problem!Last edited by Rustem; 08-23-2012 at 09:55 PM.

Hi, I just installed this update on my television and now I can not change the language of the audio on my mkv files (usb). This is unfortunate but solvable. I can not change the order of languages in all my mkv files by an error in the firmware upgrade.
I never could put the subtitle of my mkv files (usb). Could be achieved with an update? This question is not as important to me but the audio related questions ...
Thank you very much and greetings from Spain.

Hi! I just bought my 46PFL8007 this week and updated to the new software yesterday.
-As pepescratch mentioned, the language in mkv files, that was automatically put to English before the update, can now NOT be changed in any way.
-After the update the left two corners of the screen seem a bit lighter than the rest. Did not have a conformity issue before.
-SKY receiver and BD Player are still recognized as new devices almost ever other time I turn on the TV. Always depends on the order you turn on your other devices. e.g. TV then receiver OK. Receiver then TV --> new device recognized.
-Sounds problem -> Sky receiver -> when switching from a HD to an SD channel so from Stereo to Dolby Digital signal a fairly loud sweaky noise is noticable in the speakers. No matter if ARC or optical.
Never had this problem before.
-when switching back from Network view to HDMI the TV turned off twice.
-other stability issues I was quite fed up with seem to be solved
-speed inprovement are noticable
The following things are not bugs but would be nice to have (or maybe I just couldn't find out how to)
-reorder the input list
-a discrete IR code list for HARMONY ONE support!!
-switch the HELP and SETUP buttons in the home menu. As we seem to do a lot of troubleshooting it be nice to have the most used menu entry listed first.
I believe this is it for now. In case I stumble upon more things I'll let you know.
All the best and thx for trying to solve the problems as quickly as possible.

@Toengel - thx for the info
2 more things I just saw.
- When watching a file over the network option: When I change the picture settings during playback there is a flickering block in the menu. --> you can see the actual picture blur through the menu
-Furthermore the picture changes I made to the profile will again be gone as soon as the file stops playing. This happened to me twice. Tried to recreate. Might have been a freak thing tho.

Hi.
I tested the firmware for about eight hours on the 42PFL6007K. The good things first:
- looks that the PVR issue that I was experiencing before it was solved. The TV worked with the HDD attached and we even used it for time-shift without any issue.
- the motion in the picture is better but still macroblocks appear when the image moves quickly.
- the corruption in the subtitles in TV mode was solved
The not so good:
- in 3D the flickering of the fine textures is present
- when changing from Smart TV to TV the Auto zoom does not work anymore. In order to fix it you have to change to another source and revert.
- the picture in 3D stutters from time to time with the HDNM on. This happened especially in the smoke pictures in HUGO 3D Bluray but I was experiencing it in other movies to and in HD pictures.
- the picture stutters more when HDNM is set to minimum in regular HD pictures.
This is for now. I will test it more and post the findings.Last edited by majorusa; 08-26-2012 at 07:44 AM.

I update the 55/8007 with this firmware. Some new problems:
- sometimes the TV does not want to go on (happen in three days 4 times!), power off solved the problem
Movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CbPM...ature=youtu.be
- when watching TV format 1080i/50 sometimes left a white line appear when picture format configuration is "not scale", when changing this to other setting, white line is disappearing

Tnx Peter. I don't think that's the problem. I attached the same streamer to old Philips tv and it worked. I also tried to play all different files like simple mp3. Didn't work every time regardless of file. Even the sound of the tones inside the streamer it didn't recognize. I almost confident it's a bug. Connecting my cable and computer with HDMI cables worked. It's just the streamer.

The issue with Extreamer is related to the way the media player downsizes the sound: LPCM. The Philips series 6XXX and above does not understand this protocol. I documented this bug at the previous firmware, made tests with several mediaplayers and I was expecting Philips to have this solved by now. It is not and I am glad that someone else raised this issue. Maybe now Philips will be more attentive.
Adding to the bugs in this firmware issue:
- the LPCM issue still exists
- after zapping through 14 channels on DVB-C with CI+ the TV locked, I received a black screen and no sound, it became irresponsive to the remote and eventually after few minutes restarted by itself.
- the HDNM on 3D is horrendous, there are macroblocks especially in the top area of the screen and in pictures with a lot of movement like fireworks it stutters badly.
- the 24p in 3D judders badly
