Screen movement not always fluent when playing video files

Hi,

I have a 40PFL8606H/12 and I noticed with playing video files from an external dvd or media player (connected via HDMI 1.4) that with movement of the camera, the screen is not fluent.

For example: when the camera moves from one side of a room to the other side you see small hesitations. Same with larger outdoor movements.

This happens with bluray, dvd and media files (mkv for example).
I don't see this with the normal tv feed via a settop box.


Is this something that can be fixed with a tv setting somewhere?

Hi,

At default everything is turned off in the Perfect Pixel HD menu, except Clear LCD.
I tried setting the various Perfect Natural Motion settings (off to max) but I didn't see any noticeable difference.

Please try the following:
1st: HOME > Setup > TV Settings > Picture > Perfect pixel HD > perfect natural motion > OFF
2nd: HOME > Setup > Show Demos > HD Demo movie

Watch this movie, and you'll experience a not so fluent picture ( like you ahve explained)

Now put the perfect natural motion ON and watch the demo video again.

Please report the result.

I think I know the reason for your problem. It is about Hz.
The output of your device ( pc, media player etc) must be the same as the video. Most full hd mkv rips are 24 hz so you must set the output of your player to 24hz. If the output is 60 hz you might experience your problem. use a pc right click on the video, choose media info. there you can find details of your video.
