Reinstall TV firmware on Philips 6007

    Hi,

I upgraded my TV with the last firmware 150.095, sometime- when I turn my TV on- I get a black screen with white wording showing an error page that no software is installed, the TV does not operate and requires a cold start (pull out the power cable).
Now I'm wondering if there was a problem with the installation process. I know Philips does not recommend on downgrade TV firmware, however I'm asking for reinstallation of the same version (150.095) using USB stick, through menu setup (setup -> software setting -> local updates). Can this be done?

    Thank you

    Hi NaC,

This could be perhaps one of two scenarios. Either the software does indeed require reinstallation or there is an issue with previous software in the flash memory.

I would advise to try and force update the software this way:

    - Download the latest firmware version.
    - Create a folder called "UPGRADES" on your USB stick.
    - Extract the autorun.upg file to UPGRADES and rename it to "test.upg".
    - Insert USB stick in TV and go to:
    HOME > [Setup] > [Software settings] > [Local updates] > Select test.upg

Await the software installation. Once complete, remove all USB devices and pull the power cord for 2 minutes.

If this does not help, please try to clear the flash memory:

    - While on TV source enter 1 2 3 6 5 4 on the remote control.
    - Press the red button and the numbers 2 5 3 2 7
NOTE: No confirmation will be shown.

If this does not help, please reinstall the TV and contact your local customer service team:
    http://www.support.philips.com/suppo..._selector.jsp?
Select your country and preferred language, then Contact.

    Best regards,
    Ina

    Ina hi,
Thank you very much for your response. I has not seen this black screen appears again on my TV, however I would like to reinstall the current software. Can you please give me more details regarding the flash memory clearance, will it delete user information, such personal setting, smart TV's applications and favorite sites?
    Thanks again,
    NaC

    Hi NaC.

No, it will only clear out the temporary flash memory of the TV. No settings will be changed or deleted.

    Best regards,
