Hts9140 Unable to play 3d on 2d tv
Hi,
Hts9140
Latest firmware
Tv is pfl9704 (2009) which is not 3d capable.
When playing a 3d bd (the nutcracker by universal from 2010) the bd stops saying the tv is not 3d and stops.
I have configured the hts to 3d off, powered off (remove power cable) but that does not help.
Any clues?

Hi,
some 3D Blu-rays don't have the option to play the content in 2D. Do you have other 3D BDs to test?

Hi,
I just tried animals united in 3d from constantin productions in 2010. It works but does seem other. It has a menu in which you can select 2d, 3d with r/g glasses or 3d with supported tv.
The nutckacker starts and then complains immediatelly, no questions.
Armand
Just tried nutcracker again, still no go.

But is the nutcracker in 3D only or not? If so then thats where the issue comes from...
If not then you might give the Ean code for the movie

Hi,
Oscar (and me) were asking, if ONLY the 3D version is on the Blu-ray OR if a 2D version is additionally on the BD...

Now i get your 1 reply "some BD do not have the option to play 2D content".
I reread the cover and disk. No mention of the content in that form. Is has the Blu Ray logo with 3D underneath.
The error message printed on my TV suggest that i us proper 3D equipement or view on a the BD on a Computer.
That would suggest that playing in 2D on a computer is supported. I will check that out tonight.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
It does not state on the disc if the 2D version is included.
But is does play in 2D on a computer.
I asked Universal if the 2D version is also included on the same disc.
PS: Reading this (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...er,2636-3.html) article reveals that 3D should just be extra data on the 2D mode so 2D is always present.
Correct?

There are 2 types of Blu-ray 3D available:
•Blu-ray 3D + 2D Blu-ray on one disc (3D/2D compatible)
•Blu-ray 3D-only on one disc (3D-only)
For your case:
Product name for EAN 5050582879964:
Nutcracker - Untold Story (3D Blu-Ray)

Thanks for your reply.
I do get your point and have asked Universal what they mean when they said: The disc works OK on there Samsung Equipement regarding my question about not running in 2D.
What i do not get is how this same disc is able to play in 2D on a iMac (and problably a PC to).
Thanks again,
Regards,
Armand
