    TV Remote App Unstable/Unreliable

    I have just bought a 55PUS6401 tv.

The remote app (tp vision app) is very unstable/unreliable.

    When will this be fixed?

    Hi,

if you dont like the Remote App, try the Android Remote.
Its an Android App made by Google.

    Hi Thomas,

This suggestion isn't very helpful. The Android Remote for iOS lacks many of the features you would expect from a software remote. I can't control the volume on my TV for example (please correct me if I'm wrong here). The app's keyboard (used to control the TV's onscreen keyboard) is also unusable in its current form - hoping Google fixes this soon.

Is anyone working on a fix for the Philips app and the new TV's? When can we expect to see the fix released?

    Regards,
    Jordan

Thx Thomas for your quick response, but with all respect I cannot take that as a serious answer.
We, or at least I like the app the way it is, that is if it works as it should be because it has a lot of potential. There is some connection problem that I cannot find a solution for. The app finds the television, and the television set responds with a pin, after that the tv may respond to the commands given, but mostly does not. I did use the Google version of the remote app, but that one doesn't get text right on the display as it gives extra characters. Instead of giving possible tips to get it to work properly, the answer is: don't like it, get something else. Don't like the Philips, get the Sony. That's not why we are here for. Is it a bug in the app? Is it a routersetting? Specific setting in the tv? Conflicting software in a way? Could be anything, but working towards a solution for the existing problem is the goal. If you do have tips or tricks to get it to work, I will be very glad to hear them. Thx!

    Hi,

okay, im sorry, your here to get an answer on the TV Remote, answer is, there is currently no plans known on when the App will get Updates.

Maybe now, the option to use an alternate method, which might is not perfect but is a true alternative Solution is more satisfying?

    Hi Thomas,

I have a 65pus8601 TV with the latest software update. After some time I lost pairing with my remote control due to a crash. The basic functions now only work with the app that you mentioned 'Android Remote'. Without this app it's impossible to reinstall the TV because the TV remote app is broken for 50%. Unable to scroll, buttons not working. I find that very disturbing. Don't these software updates go through an OTAP where the remote control is also being tested with the TV remote app?

    Kind regards,

    Meico
