Problems with WAV on Ariaz Sa4ARA16KF/12

Hi,

I just ordered this 16 GB Ariaz player. I want to put my albums on it in WAV format (because it is the best sound quality) yet Songbird does not seem to support WAV files.. When I try to transfer a WAV file to the Ariaz songbird automatically converts it to an MP3 which I do not want (great programming guys).

The other option which I can think of is to copy the WAV file to the Ariaz not using songbird.. However in that way all your music files regardless the folders artist names or album titles, or song numbers, your songs will be allmost randomly placed in one big folder called "unknown", your artists are unknown, your albums are unknown..
Well to me this does not sound like a very convenient way to store WAV files on an MP4 player.

So here is my question: Is there a way to store WAV files on this Ariaz so that you can have subfolders for each album and put the songs of the album in the right order (like starting with 01 and ending with 12 orso). Please let me know.

Hi !

Why not use FLAC format (seems like the Ariaz supports it) ?
It is non-destructive and supports tagging & album art too. And you will waste less waste space compared to the WAV format

Thank you for your reply.
I wish model Sa4ARA16KF/12 supports FLAC but unfortunately it does not, only MP3, WAV, WMA. I use WAV because it is the best sound quality but as I described above the ways to organise your WAV files is not very advanced.

Ok, sorry. I googled the Ariaz and as far as I could see, FLAC was indeed supported. My mistake.
What about uncompressed WMA then ? WMA supports tagging.

And no problem, I thought my Ariaz played FLAC myself until I uploaded a FLAC file and it said (this format is not supported orso).

Uncompressed WMA that sounds very interesting! I did not know that WMA could be uncompressed. I will try that, and hope it works.

I have learned something interesting..

The problem described above is "only" encountered when you access your music files using the "Music" folder on the Ariaz. However when you acces your music through "Folder view" you can see and play your albums the way you organized the files on your computer originally. So for me the problem is fixed.
