Picture formats explanation.
Hello,
I would like to know what diferent format options exactly do. ¿Where could i find a detailed explanation - more than in user's guide- about diferent picture formats available like: Automatic zoom, Super zoom, panoramic, etc.?

You can Google each format. You will definitely find a lot of information online.

Hi txema,
Here is an explanation:
The picture format list can have 2 Auto format modes:
1. Auto-fill: When Autofill is selected as picture format, this option will fit the video to fill the whole screen and avoid black areas as much as possible.
2. Auto-zoom: When Autozoom is selected as picture format, this option will fit the video to the screen, while maintaining the original aspect ratio, and without loss of image. Black areas may be visible.
Widescreen
In case the aspect ratio/active format of the incoming signal is 16:9 full format, the result on a 16:9 display shall be a screen filling picture without video loss/black bars and with no aspect ratio deformation (16:9 aspect ratio).
Movie expand 16:9
In case the aspect ratio/active format of the incoming signal is 16:9 letterbox, the result on a 16:9 display shall be a vertical zoomed screen filling picture without video loss/black bars and with no aspect ratio deformation (16:9 aspect ratio).
Superzoom
In case the aspect ratio/active format of the incoming signal is 4:3 full format, the result on a 16:9 display shall be a screen filling picture without black bars, vertical zoomed with only a small video loss (ticker bar readability) and a horizontal panoramic effect with an acceptable non-linear aspect ratio deformation (deformation increase from middle to both sides of the screen).
Unscaled
This picture format shows the incoming signal with as little scaling as possible, by not masking anything present in the video signal and no overscan and no black bar removal.
This means on FHD display:
- input 1920X1080: dot on dot
- input 1280x720p: hor. and vert. upscaled x 1.5 to 1920x1080.
- input SD e.g. 720x576: upscaled without aspect ratio distortion and no picture loss: 4:3 picture without letter box.
Only in Brazil
A 16:9 stretch picture format setting shall be available. In case the aspect ratio/active format of the incoming signal is 16:9 aspect ratio with 4:3 content and pillar boxes. The result shall be a screen filling picture without black bars, vertical zoomed with only a small video loss (ticker bar readability) and a horizontal panoramic effect with an acceptable non-linear aspect ratio deformation (deformation increase from middle to both sides of the screen).
I hope this is clarifying things for you....
Kind regards,
