DLNA Browser hangs
I have problems with my BDP5200 (firmware 1.55) and DLNA. It can see the server, and play movies, music or pictures, but very often when browser through the data the BDP interface hangs. Whatever music it was playing (either from CD, or even over DLNA) keeps on playing, but you can not do anything anymore except turning of the device (and even that will take some time).
I have tried several DLNA servers (miniDLNA en Twonky on NAS, windows media player on PC, and others) but same results. Its seems to be ok when only a few albums are there (tested with 10 or so), but with large music collection it shows this behaviour.
To rule out problems of the router or the wireless connection, I have also tried a direct wired connection to my laptop. Still the same results. Looking at the network traffic I can see nothing is really going on (except for some
SSDP Ok message from my laptop to the BPD, and some M-SEARCH mulitcasts from he BDP) and, when song is finished, a bunch of data to start the new song.....
Clues anyone?
BTW another strange network issue I see it that the RemoteApp (on Android) only sees the device with a wired connection, and not over wifi?

Mine behaves the same way. If you have a large library, navigating very slowly seems to help. However even if you can navigate successfully the system occasionally locks up during playback (mp3 over a wired network).
I gave up trying to get the Philips DLNA function to work and bought a WDTV Live which has been great.

I would agree that slow browsing helps, but even then it is not really safe, and not acceptable as well (BTW: Why not have a 'page down' button as well, browser long lists (even if it would work) is not very userfriendly this way).
I also have occasional lock ups, but I have not figured out exactly when that happens. I have been able to play HD movies without problems, so basic bandwidth does not seem to be the problem.
I would say DLNA / media streaming is an essential function for the device, and I can't believe we are the only ones seeing these problems. And it should be possible to fix it with a firmware update......

how long you have been waited before you confirm it freezes? this is because it may be just working at the background and it may take longer if the list (items) is long.
what is the size of content you have in your library for DLNA?

I have the same experience when browsing dlna with my 5200/12. Browsing quickly among the folders seem to hang the player! Eventually it returns to the top of the browser tree. This never happens with my LG ST-600 on the same wireless net and same dlna server! Occationaly it looses the server competely and you have to restart the player to get it back! Not very stable I would say..... Again, this never happens with my LG ST-600! I wanted to use the 5200 to play music over dlna because I like the browser better that of the ST-600, but I gave that up

I have made a new folder with only 40 albums or so, and that seems to be better. It really seems to be a problem with larger folders.
