32PFL3017T/12 - picture settings
Hello,
I have a question concerning my new 32PFL3017T/12.
I've tried to do the picture settings as well as I can (reading the manual, trying different kinds of settings etc.) but I'm still not satisfied with the picture quality.
Could you please tell me, which would be the best settings concerning these:
backlight (0-100)
video contrast (0-100)
brightness (0-100)
colour (0-100)
sharpness (0-20)
noise reduction (off/minimum/medium/maximum)
tint (cool/normal/warm/custom)
digital crystal clear:
advanced sharpness (on/off)
dynamic contrast (off/maximum/medium/minimum)
dynamic backlight (off/best picture/best power/standard)
MPEG artifact reduction (on/off)
colour enhancement (off/maximum/medium/minimum)
gamma (-4 --> 4)
EasyLink: on or off and Pixel Plus Link on or off?
I'd be very happy for your help, thank you already in advance!
Best Regards,
Johanna

Hi Johanna,
Since you already try several settings, I would also recommend you to check the incoming cable or antenna signal connection to make sure that it is properly secured to the TV's antenna input.
You can check the quality of the signal reception in the options menu:
-While you watch TV channel, press the ‘OPTIONS’ button on the remote control to display the options menu.
-Press the cursor down to select [Status] and press the 'OK' button.
-The status menu appears displaying an overview of the current TV information.
Although an analog connection does not offer the same quality, you can still obtain an excellent picture if you observe the following guidelines:
-Check your cables and cable-connections.
-Make all your cables as short as possible.
-Use high quality antenna cable.
-Connect the plugs well into their sockets.
-Do not use an antenna cable splitter. Splitting the signal will make it considerably weaker.

Hi
TV settings are very subjective and will vary greatly depending on what source you are using.
However, to get things started, I have a 32PFL3517T/12 which appears to be very similar to the spec. of your TV, my main source is a Philips HDT8520_05 recorder connected via HDMI. I've only had this for a month but have found these settings to produce very good results for my taste (I like good solid blacks with no milkyness).
Evening viewing (low light levels in room)
Backlight: 0
Video Contrast: 90
Brightness: 29
Colour: 35
Sharpness: 7
Noise reduction: off
Tint: normal
Digital Crystal Clear: set everything to off, Gamma: 4
Daylight (but not bright sunlight)
Backlight: 15
Video Contrast: 75
Brightness: 37
Colour: 36
Sharpness: 7
Noise reduction: off
Tint: normal
Digital Crystal Clear: set everything to off, Gamma: 0
Hope this is of some help
Regards
