BBC Iplayer quits half way through a programme
Hi folks,
I have a 42pfl7666t smart tv that is up to date with the latest firmware. However when using the BBC iPlayer app, halfway through the programme iPlayer starts buffering but then quits back to the programme selections page. I am using BT Infinity fibre optic broad band and there is nothing else connected to my hub and router, I also have a Humax HDR FOX T2 which is wifi enabled and also features the iPlayer app and this has not problems with watching a prgramme. I am in contact with Philips support but they think is is my wifi signal, but this is not true as the Humax PVR works fine with iPlayer.
Does anybody have any idea what the problem could be or have you had the same expereince,
Many thanks,
nictu.

Sometimes, a messed up connection gives you this type of problem. It would be best to look for a new ISP.

It's nothing to do with my ISP. BT is one of the best ISP's in the UK and my experience of their service is that it is second to none. If Iplayer works on my pc and on the HUMAX PVR in the SAME ROOM then it is feasible that the iPlayer app installed on Net TV is at fault.

Maybe there is interference from another Wifi network, because your neighbors are using the same Wifi channel.
If you have a smart phone or tablet PC, you can use the "Wifi Analyzer App" to see exactly what's active in your neighborhood.
If there is a second Wifi network that uses the same channel or a channel near your own channel, than set the router to a different WiFi channel.

Thanks for the input DellUser,
I don't have a tablet of smart phone, but using Windows Vista "Connect To" from the start menu the only networks that show up are BT, BTFON and BTOpenZone, these are normal and are not coming from someone elses router. There is only one from another users network which has a very low signal, so if interference is a problem then surely this would also affect my PC's and the HUMAX PVR?
Thanks again,
nictu

Thanks for you input DellUser. I don't have a tablet or smartphone and besides, Windows Vista will show all available networks within range, of which, there are only BTFON and BTOpenZone, which are both normal to see on a BT istallation and then another users' network appears, but their signal strength is very low, so is ulikely to cause any interference on my router and besides that, why don't my PC and HUMAX PVR suffer from this "interference". What I have done though is switched off my TV for about 5 minutes and then switched the mains power back on. After this iPlayer seems to work normally and a programmes can be watched all the way through. I will test it again tonight.
Thanks again,
nictu.

I was able to watch another programme on iPlayer all the through last night after turning my tv off then back on. Which means that this was more likely a software issue rather that a bad ISP/Interference/Weak signal issue.
I glad it was this simple to sort out,
Thanks to all for you input,
nictu.

Some of my earlier replies seem to be missing from this thread. So please forgive re-iteration. Basically I turned my tv off for about 5 minutes then back on and after this I could watch a programme on iPlayer all the way through without interruption.
Thanks to all for you input,
