Question LG Bluray player and easylink key passing?

I have a 6057 and when I connect a Raspberry Pi running XBMC with a HDMI 1.4 cable I can use the TV remote to control it.

When I connect an LG BP430 bluray player the TV recognizes it and has the same "connecting" message when switching to it. However, I cannot use the TV remote to control the LG player.

Does anybody have this working? Where would the problem be?

Is there anything I can do?

    Wout.

PS: I already contacted LG and they said "not all products are compatible". Jeez - isn't that what standards are for? I don't see many LG product purchases in my future...

    Hi,

is HDMI-CEC activated on your LG device (Easylink = HDMI-CEC)?

Yes as far as I can tell - the specs claim that it has it and there seems to be nothing in the setup that allows me to turn it on or off.

Actually I've just done some broader googling and it turns out that LG doesn't implement the HDMI-CEC spec but instead their own protocol! See http://forums.pulse-eight.com/yaf_po....aspx#post1331

So basically it will never work. Too bad. I'll probably be returning the player then.
