Issue during mkv or avi movies from USB on 32PFL3017H/12
Hi, while watching to movies in .avi or .mkv format from USB, original format (16:9) is not mantained, ex, rings seems eggs.
i tried different settings from configuration, as 16:9, 14:9, full screen, etc, but it seems this options have no effect during USB play.
the "format" key on remote control switch from image full screen to a very very very small image, but correct shapes (rings are not eggs).
mkv and avi movies are displayed correctly on pc.
can you please advise me on solving this issue ?
Thank you,
Giorgio

I'm afraid you're not the only one having aspect ratio issues.
I get replies from philips that this is "normal".
Have a look here!

Hi, thanks a lot for your reply!
i don't agree about the "normal" behaviour, since movies are correctly displayed on other brand devices..
anyway, thank you very much for the answer!

You could always buy a cheap Salora 22LED7000T, like I did for the bedroom.
Although this HD TV is not called a "smart" TV, it is in fact smart enough to play 4:3 AVI files with the correct aspect ratio on its 16:9 screen!
It even switches to correct aspect ratio automatically, if desired.
Tip for Philips: Perhaps Philips can copy this part of the Salora FW code to make Philips TV's just as smart!

Mark Vos
