Player crashes when playing Movie Trailer
This post is to inform the people at Philips about an issue, maybe you can fix it in an upcoming firmware update.
I have the BDP5500 player with the latest firmware (v3.46).
I downloaded this trailer from Apple: http://trailers.apple.com/movies/ind...lr1_h1080p.mov (you might need to set a specific HTTP user agent, e.g. "Quicktime/7.4", to actually be able to download the file).
When I try to play this file via DLNA from a NAS running minidlna, the TV immediately loses the HDMI connection, and the Blu-ray player is completely frozen. It does not respond to the remote or when pressing the buttons on the device itself.
The only solution is to pull the plug.
This happened with the previous firmware as well.
I haven't run into any other movie files that show this behaviour.

I suspect it's the size of video (1998x1080). Still, if the player cannot play this, at least it shouldn't crash

Hi Kyle,
Indeed it is the filesize which is not supported. MAybe the device gets in a loop that makes it crash. Other files do work ok though no?

Regarding Trailers (from Apple), I haven't found any other files that make the player crash so far.
