58 PFL9956 and Stereo amplifier sound, how to do that?
Please help! The 9956 screen has no analog-out to my surprise. How can I get the sound of a blu-ray disc on my Quad stereo set with only analog-in, red and white tulip connections?

Hi,
you have three sound output options:
- digital: SPDIF
- digital: HDMI-ARC
- analog: via headphone connector (it's controlled separately in the menu - not via RC; only 2.0 stereo)

Thanks Toengel, in this case only the analog connection will work? Till now I found in the menu only a volume control for the headphone, what else should I do in the menu to make it work?

Hi,
right - you can only use an adapter cable from headphone out to red/white at you amplifier. Then you need to setup the headphone volume. Then you can mute your TV loudspeaker and control the volume of the amplifier.

Hi Toengel, I put up the headphone volume high then I tried with a headphone adapter with red and white tulip connection to the audio cable and AV of the stereo, yet no sound. Don't know what's wrong.
Just tried the little scart connector with an adapter to pick up the analog out and direct it to the stereo, it works, but only for the TV channels, not for the Blu-ray sound. This I do not understand either. Any Ideas?

Sorry, wrong information, the scart does not work, get the audio from the channels through the direct connection of the TV-decoder with the Stereo.
So connected the Blu-ray player also direct to the stereo using connections for the front speakers of the surround on the player, good stereo, looks there is no problem of lip sync.Last edited by Gerrit; 09-21-2012 at 03:46 PM.
