new firmware introduces HDMI CEC problems

    Hi,
since I installed the new firmware, the unit no longer switches off when the TV switches off. Unit and LG TV from the LN5400 series (which does not have ARC, but does have CEC, and the latest firmware) are connected via HDMI 1.4 cable. I tried other cables and slots in the TV, no luck. It used to switch off upon TV power down, and no longer does with the latest firmware. This is not good, and makes me want to go back to the old firmware. Can you tell me if and where I can get it?

    Secondary information:
It still does not switch on when the TV switches on.
It no longer seems to switch on the TV when switching on the unit (not that that was desired functionality).
The visibility of the other CEC functions of the sound bar to the TV (volume control) are as it was before: very unreliable, maybe once out of 5 tries.
    Kind regards,
    Hans

Hi, the LG TV connected to the soundbar does not allow those settings (even my other philips TV does not have that). I have tried all settings, even forcing simplink (LG's name for CEC), nothing changes.
If you mean to use those settings in the settings of the sound bar itself, I don't know how to do that.

Other issue: I also remark frequent (once every 30 minutes) sound problems: the sound starts to stutter, delays, and comes back after 10 seconds. Not a very good experience. Forcing PCM now, maybe that changes it.

    Dear Bateau020,

Can you please let me know what type of connection you are using between LG and soundbar?

HDMI 1.4 cable + optical cable, both less than 2 m long, both new. Tried other HDMI cables (1.3), same result, did not try with other optical cables.

    Dear Bateau020,

Can you confirm that you are using HDMI/ARC port for connection and the correct source is selected.

Tried both HDMI connections on the TV (cross checked with the different cables I have), same result.
Tried plugging in the cables the other way around, same result.
Audio source on soundbar = 'opt' (as the TV does not support ARC, selecting ARC will not give any audio, no matter the CEC settings on the TV, it only has optical audio out)
Tried with simplink (CEC) activated from the TV (when it wants to let me do so, which is rare) and without, same result. The only difference when activating CEC is that I can control the volume from the TV remote. That works without a flaw.

    Regards,
    Hans
