No DVD signal on the 58PFL9956
I use the Blu-ray player BD390 of LG. Blu-ray discs work fine on the 9956, but with a DVD in the player the screen shows: "no video signal". This problem was not there with my former screen: 47 PFL9732. HDMI cables are still the same, only the screen was changed recently. Please help.

Hi Philips-Benedickte,
The software is: 14.099. The "no video signal" comes both after playing a Blu-ray disc and after turning off the player first and switch on again (also after several hours) and than putting a DVD on. For a short moment the screen indicates there is a DVD, just like it does when I put a Blu-ray disc on, but in case of the DVD immediately there comes the sign "no video signal".

Hi, Philips-Benedickte
Yes to all DVD's.
The Blu-ray player got the newest software too. The setting of the player was"Auto". Just tried 1080i and 720p, and it works! Not with the 1080p. Does this mean I always have to change settings when changing between DVD and Blu-ray discs? In that case why did the 47PFL work with "Auto" and the 9956 not? Is there a setting of the screen to make it work more convenient?
Found out that the player with settings on 720p, the screen works with a Blu-ray disc too, without changing settings! So it looks like the problem is solved?!! Strange to me, the screen recognizes the disc as Blu-ray, is it playing on real Blu-ray resolution or interlacing from 720 to 1080p?
Thanks, Philips-Benedickte

Hi Philips-Benedickte,
Thanks for that.
Found out that now, with the player settings on 720p, the screen recognizes both DVD's and works with a Blu-ray disc too, so without changing settings! Does this mean that the screen works with the real Blu-ray resolution in case of such disc or is it only upscaling from 720 to 1080p?
