I think in general, this would be possible, technically. But I do not like the idea. The TV would be a second PC, then. You could also add a micro PC below your TV and you will have much more functionality.

I totaly agree with you. I don´t need twitter, fb, skype and such things on tv. The only things that make really sense in my opinion is access to streaming media or news, so that you wouldn´t have to connect your notebook to tv for watching or listening to (thats why i suggested myvideo.tv and several videocenters as app). That´s the only reason i want flash on the tv. If there is another way to get access to this sites, i´m also happy with this.

I would like to habe the ORF Mediathek available on the TV Set.

And I would like to have a better youtube app.
I want to be able to login with my youtube id and see my subscribed channels, I want to be able to search for videos and see the results with a short image - but not with auto play! I want to explicit start a youtube video.

I tried to access it yesterday via hbbig.com, but it wasn´t possible for me (got error message that my system doesn´t match the needed requirements). I use bdp5200/12. Maybe it works with tv.

MyVideo would have to adapt their website for a good user experience.

Yea, whole internet must rewrite their web-sites due to crappy philips tv software.

May be its Philips job to develop proper firmware?

Is the BDP5200 a 2011 modell with latest FW? On 2011 TV sets the mentioned apps work. I've already contacted myvideo.tv last summer and the told me that the ipad App has got first priority. so as more people ask for a TV app directly at myvideo.tv the faster it will be available

the bdp5200/12 is modell 2011, with the latest fw 1.35 released 10-28-2011, just looked it up an philips homepage once again...but if it´s really only a fw problem and they don´t have fixed it after 2 months since the release of the fw, i should consider bringing the player back, because i just bought it a few days ago and it seems that no one is interessted in making it work properly.

Edit: got answer from myvideo.tv, but they don´t say very much.

thats the same answer of myvideo.tv i got last summer. I guess that your BDP5200 only has Opera 9.7. browser integrated thats why the pro7 apps doesn't work.

I bet it´s also the reason myspass isn´t working. now i´m not longer able to start zdf mediathek, it just keeps loading and nothing happens...actually there are not many apps left for me that are really working AND seem usefull to me...just for listen to the radio i don´t need net tv...i hope they will at last do their job and fix it soon

Just tested it an got the following message:

Presto/2.6.33 Version/10.60 is invalid: does not start with HbbTV
