On 2k11 devices we have BBC iPlayer available. Take care, BBC does not allow playback when you are outside the UK.

Lovefilm would be popular as it's a well known video rental service in the UK and other manufacturers have it on their devices.

Integration of YouView to be launched in 2012 would be a major step forward as 2011 TVs can record content to external USB memory. YouView will mean a new box for many people but will also include the BT Vision service. Delivering these services to a Philips TV without the need to purchase extra hardware sounds to be the way forward. YouView has now published its core technical specification.

I checked the site www.youview.com.
This really looks promising. I wonder if it will be usable outside the UK. (BBC-iPlayer is not
).
We see in Germany the HBB-TV coming up (works on our Philips TV's as well).
In the UK they choose to do it their own way (as always).
Will it work on our Philips TV's?

Hi,
it could be that the BBC iPlayer APP needs some "stuff" that is only available in 2011 series...
BTW, your firmware is really old... version 140.37 is already available on the webpage...

I was told by the Philips help desk in the UK that due to the license agreement with the BBC, the iplayer is only available on UK models i.e those with a /05 suffix. Because the BBC is funded by a TV License which all TV owners have to purchase, whether they watch BBC channels or not, any domestic service the BBC provide is usually available within the UK only. The internet online content is also restricted outside the UK.
I am not sure how this will work on the 2011 models which have a T/12 suffix and will be available in Scandinavian countries also because, along with the UK are using DVB T2 to deliver HD channels. Therefore, the 05 suffix seems to have disappeared for 2011 TVs.
I should add that the iplayer app is truly stunning with standard and HD channels, excellent picture and sound with smooth performance via WiFi using BDP7600/05. (I recently replaced my 12 month old BDP7500/12 to get iplayer on the latest model).

AFAIK, FrameChannel has closed down their service.
Yes, We want Vimeo app!
Philips, when do we get Google+ app? I've been beta testing the community for a while and would like to hear you are going to make an app for it. Google+ seems to be more pretty and easier than FB when I first time learnt to use it.

Please add putpat.tv to NetTV portal. Their CeHTML-Version works well with direct URL input on my 8404! Is similar to QTom, but more choices and different genres.

Hi!
It would be usefull if you could put some Hungarian applications as well. Samsung just has lots of them and will smashes Philips Net TV if you will not upgrade.

Dear Philips, dear community.
To me (in Belgium) the most valuable NetTV application is actually the possibility to listen to radio streams from over the world. My "wish" is that NetTV would also support AAC streams as, for example, made available by the BBC radio. Kind regards from Paul.

BBC iPlayer is absolutely the #1 app needed on my 9705. There are very few apps at all if you are in the UK so iPlayer would be much appreciated.
