I was in contact with bong.tv and I suggest to ask them. If you google, you will see they created an app some time ago. Just ask the bong.tv team how you can use it on Samsung TV.
How do you install apps manually? By manually redirecting the TV to your developer kit on your pc, setting up the developer sdk on a pc? I feel this way is not very comfortable for an end user in productive environment. I don't know another way.

Maybe a fitness app would be nice. To do some fitness training at home.
Instructions for exercises to keep you fit, maybe different levels of difficulty. Some media to explain the exercises with pictures, videos, audio.
For smartphones there are already such apps, but the display is very small. This is a bad usability, if you do exercises and have to move to watch the screen. Such an app for a large screen like TVs would solve this issue...

I agree with you.
SKYPE is app for new generation of TV sets , also SAMSUNG and LG have Skype app too.
And my opinion is that PHILLIPS need to roll back YouTube app.
This new YouTube Leanback is not user friendly, and it has no point if you can not open all YouTube videos, make favorite list and log on.
All the best from proud PHILLIPS TV owner.
P.S. it is good Tv.

Germany:
First of all, a browser with flash ;-)
App for www.myvideo.tv (free legal streaming site, would be a huge extension of the service)
App for Sat1, Pro7, RTL (all incl. Mediathek)

Sure, this would be a great app for NetTV. I fully agree.
But Flash support on a TV won't make websites like myvideo.tv usable on TVs. It will need also a mouse. MyVideo would have to adapt their website for a good user experience. That a user can use it with a simple remote.

I´m quite new to this, so I don´t know if it´s such a big problem to offer also support for a mouse and not just for keyboard via the usb. In my opinion it shouldn´t be such a problem. I can also imagine that it is possible to build a special remote with a trackball or something on it. I tried to access Sat1, Kabel1 and Pro7 Videocenters via net tv browser yesterday, but it doesn´t work :-(

I think in general, this would be possible, technically. But I do not like the idea. The TV would be a second PC, then. You could also add a micro PC below your TV and you will have much more functionality. Following a mouse pointer, when you have your TV at the other side of the room, might not be an easy leanback experience.
But if you look at the vimeo app, they have built a really nice, good to use interface for their app. It would be good to have such an interface for youtube, myvideo and the other stuff.
Then you can easily use the arrow keys on the remote and navigate through the video stuff. This would be my preferred way of using it...

My suggestions:
- SKYPE - I see many users want it. An USB webcam/mic kit wont be a problem.
- NBA league pass
- Revised YouTube and Twitter apps - currently they are not very usable.
- GMail app - yes the browser does it, but it will be better with dedicated app
- Amazon - yes the browser does it, but it will be better with dedicated app
- RSS reader
- Philips Support Forum app - it is torture to navigate it using the browser, agonisingly slow and fiddly.Last edited by zlatko; 12-30-2011 at 09:08 AM. Reason: Adding items
