DCB 242 Completely Silent

This seems to be a problem that another user experienced (andyccf posted back on 22 June this year). All sound from the system (Radio and docker both) seems muted, despite volume level responding on the display to the volume button. There is no headphone jack point so can't test it with headphones.
Is this problem fixable? The box is only 15 months old and very little used but out of warranty of course.
