USB records another channel than the selected one.
Hello,
I recently purchased a 40PFL8007K TV.
The USB recording works most of the time (set aside a few error messages sometimes like "disk not formatted" and so), but I have one strange issue that is constantly present.
When I try to record (or pause, for that matter) a broadcast on National Geographic Channel, the TV records the TLC channel. Always. Also via TV-EPG or IP-EPG. I tried several things, like:
* A new automatic install of the digital channels
* Removing or reorder either NGC or TLC in Favorites.
* Unplugging the main power, wait a few minutes and plugging in again.
* Installing the latest TV firmware.
Nothing helps.
Note I only have this problem with the NGC/TLC combination, not with the other channels.
Does anyone else have a similar problem?
Is this a bug in the TV or has it someting to do with the provider (Onsbrabantnet in the netherlands)?
I hope someone can help me.
Best Regards,
Knarie

Same problem here, 46PFL5007
I have the same problem. It seems I only have it if I schedule a recording and the TV is in standby. I am in Denmark and tried to schedule a recording from Kanal 6. The TV was in standby mode.
The recording is shown in the program guide with the correct name, but when I play it, I can see the recording is from another channel (In my case the YouSee program guide channel).
Tried to record from another channel and I even switched to this channel before scheduling the recording and switching off the TV in standby. But again, the TV recorded from the YouSee program guide channel!
Firmware version is 96. I can see that there is a new firmware update (v 97). In the release notes it doesn't mention any solution to my problem. In fact it solves some very specific problems I have never experienced. But still, I will try it, although I am sure this bug will not be solved by this update. Will post here again.

Works fine after upgrading to FW v 97
There is nothing related to USB recording in the release notes for firmware v 97, but after installing it, USB recording seems to work fine (it now records the correct channel).

Hello RodeOrm,
Thanks for your posts and your update. Nice to hear your problem is solved!
Unfortunately, my problem still isn't solved.
I have the latest firmware.
So,
@Philips,
It seems that a firmware update can solve this problem. I surely hope this problem thus will be fixed with the next firmware update for my TV type (ie 40PFL8007K/12), as "your specialist is looking into it" since december 2012 now.
Best regards,
knarie

@knarie
are you sure you have the latest Firmware ? When you update with the TV over
internet, you will not get the latest Firmware. The latest Firmware is only on the
Phipips homepage and must be updatet with USB. Also the description of the
Firmware version on the Philips page is wrong. Only the downloadet file is realy new.
I think Philips ia a to big company, so the one hand does not know what the other hand does.

Hello kefrenz,
Thanks a lot for your post!
I wasn't aware of the fact that there could be newer firmware on the support site than the internet update would find.
And indeed, there was a later firmware version!
So, I installed this but too bad...my problem still isn't solved.
So @Philips (Benedickte? Or anyone), could someone please look into this problem?
Regards Mario
