Hi,
Skype is supported on 2012 TVs beginning of 6000 series. It's also available on 2012 Blu-ray Player - such as BDP5500, BDP5510, BDP6100, BDP7700 and BDP9700. Furthermore, it's planned to release an update for HMP7001/HMP7000 to support Skype. It is not available as App, it's part of the device firmware. So you cannot just add it on older devices.

Thanks for your reply.
So, since I am having two Philips products (52pfl9606 and bdp7600, both 2011 models), I should not expect any upgrade to have skype in them?
Why? Is it a hardware issue? It looks extreme to me not to be able to use this as a software, when at the same time skype software can be downloaded and used even in the most cheap android phones.
If indeed it is a harware issue, I understand that it could have done with the ability to connect external camera and mic. But since skype app is available also in the 2012 bdps (with no internal cam & mic) I can conclude that its just something that can be added retroactively.
The thing here if Philips wants to support older customers.

Hi,
Skype is just a feature of 2012 devices... don't expect this to be included in a future update...
If you want skype, take a look at http://www.logitech.com/webcam-commu...bcams/tvcam-hd

It is a marketing issue then, in order to sell 2012 products equiped with this feature.
Ok, this I can handle, but not the inability to be enhanced in past products.

Hi,
In Latin America is possible to see also skype for 5000 series.. I guess, that it is only sale strategy.
