Stuck with blinking standby light

When switching the TV on with the switch on the back - brand new, just fully installed two days ago - the standby light goes in an on/off mode, blinking every few seconds but the TV does not switch on. Tried waiting for a while to allow it to initiate itself, but no use. No response to remote either.
Anybody got any clues? It's a type 47PFL6007H/12

Could you please unplug the TV from the main , wait 5 minutes and then plug it back in?

Also does the light blink when you're not doing anything with the remote control?
Please explain a bit more what you are experiencing ( how long does the TV blink and how many blinks, does it blink all the time or only a few times) and when this started.
