Overscan

I have just purchased a second hand Philips 32PFL5522 LCD TV. The
picture is fine but there appears to be a large amount of overscan
and I am losing information at the edges of the image.
The picture format menu does not have an unscaled option.
I have entered the service menu (SAM) but there is no
Geometry setting available in this menu. The only items on the menu
are Clear, Options, Tuner, RGB Align, NVM Editor Compair and SW
Events. If any one has any ideas how to limit the overscan even if
not eliminating altogether I would be very grateful for the
information

on which sources you have a overscan? Don't change anything in the service menu!

All the sources overscan but i am mainly concerned with the HDMI1 and EXT1 inputs

Hi,

do you connect a PC with ATI graphics card? If yes, you need to disable overscan in the graphics card settings. Also some Philips TVs offer to change the picture borders for some pixels...

Hi,
No I connect straight from the on-board intel graphics on my motherboard.
The problem definitely lies with the TV as all the inputs overscan no matter what I connect to them and the hardware that I attach to them works fine on other TVs where I can select no overscan from the menus. The problem with the 32PFL5522D is that there does not seem to be any way to switch off the overscan
