DCB152 no display

Hello. new to forum please can someone assist. Bought the above as working on ebay, when it arrived it turns on but you can't do anything except load a cd. I think it will work it is just the display is not working so I have no idea what I am doing.

The display glows but is dark, is it something easy or is it time to give up?

So no display you say. What happens using Iphone on the set?

Having dismantled it and found no loose connections or obvious faults, having broken and remade all plug connacts to no avail I decided to drop it in at a guy I know who makes no charge for a look, so I don't have it to try with an Iphone.

If you put a cd in it will play it fine and if you go to radio you can get that too, just no display. Is it possible the dock is at fault?

Yes could be but if opened then you lost all warranty ( if there was any left)...

No warranty left, wouldn't have opened it if there was.

Just had the chap on the phone, apparently the power supply is at fault, wants £45 to change and at that price I think it is dead unless anyone has an idea?
