Hi. There is an option to manually install firmware. If you want to downgrade the firmware will not install automatically. You havo to go to settings, firmware update and install it from there.
The firmware should be placed on the root of a USB flash drive formatted fat 32.
I hope it helps.

Two examples of the errorous PNM of my 1800 Euro pfl8007, just because Philips says that the PNM behavior is correct:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKVeKjXESvw
and
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrbE...o&feature=plcp
I took those examples, because the issue is seen very good here. In real live, it is not the logos and info bars that really matter, these issues are seen in normal pictures.
Police officer slowly walks in front of those typical blinds (jalousie) and his head gets one with this blind, showing some kind of wave pattern. Or a ski jumper in front of the forrest who becomes some kind of fluid because of PNM
The issue is, that this faulty pictures are caused by PNM and these things are visible in any fast moving picture. This is annoying and you're not right when you say, that other maufactureres are not performing better. In fact they do. PNM causes really annoying errors under some circumstances. You are right that performance of PNM depends on the quality of the signal but the errors are seen even when watching Bluray. Just watch the big fight in the beginning of Lord of the Rings. You can even follow the quick fighting scenes because PNM is killing the picture. And it's the 400, 600, 800, 1200 Hertz you are very proud of in your ads. These marketing Mhz amaunt is called PNM. And this is absolutely not working correctly. In fact they are not usable at all.Last edited by tvkc; 12-10-2012 at 08:24 AM.

Sorry to hear this.
On another note after JuAn reply concerning the HDNM PNM bug I made my peace with this TV. The HDNM is off, I adapted at the 50HZ or 24p movies and I also discovered that I cannot watch 3D movies with HDNM on due to flicked but also dizziness. So is better with the HDNM off.
I truly hope that now the HDNM out of the way, Philips to fix the other very annoying bugs.

Remote non responsive a lot.
Tv switches off randomly when using dlna or smart TV.
Audio dropping out through amp occasionally.
Anyone at Philips care to respond?

Hi, I've just started to experience some problem with the record funktion on the tv. "PFL6877t" with this firmware. When I start a playback on a recorded file it suddenly freezes and the tv restarts itself, and sometimes the sound disappeares but the image is still playing. I've got a seagate 500gb disk that is brand new, note that i've got 145min of recorded programs on the disk, I did use the pause funktion on a movie and played the whole film with 20min delay on the tv and after that the problem started.

Hi,
We are experiencing a new problem.... We have disabled quick start function to get rid of the Ambilight bug (while TV is in stand-by) and since that Hdnm is on at each start of the TV even if disabled in the Pixel Precise menu !!! we need to enable and the disable it to get back to our settings. anyone with same issue ?
