Forward and rewind .avi from NAS TS-212 not possible
Hi,
I have a PhilipsTV 42pfl7655k/02, jointed with a NAS QNAP-TS212 via ethernet cable.
The TV can see/read the multimedia files such .avi or mp3 but it can't forward or rewind it, is only possible to read it from the beginning (pause is possible).
I updated the firmware with the version: 000.140.047.000, but the problem remain.
Thanks for an advice.
Michele

Forward and rewind .avi ...
Sorry...
I did not recived any official answer from Philips.
...the similar Topics have the same problem but olso there I can't find any solution.
Is the problem of FF and RW of .avi files, without solution?

Hi,
can you please confirm the video bitrate? Maybe it is more that 15 000kpbs and that is the problem.

Quickly, I've tested on my 3 films.
All are HD 1280x720, 1280x528, 1280x532
Overall bit rate: 4.245 Kb/s, 6 090 Kbps, 6 250 Kbps
Frame rate: 23.976 fps
but I don't know why bitrate may connect with no-ability to forward / rewind the movie in
the TV player ?
My software version in TV is Q554E-0.92.0.0_bld37a

Ok. I understand.
So, I think many ordinary HD films have a bitrate about 5000-6000 kbps. Ok.
I play them from USB "speed" pen-drive or by my cable-local network from computer.
Is there any chance to fix this problem (rewind, forward) in the future software release for my Philips TV ?
[ for clarification - we're talking about faster rewind movie - not 10's second step - better 2 or 3 minutes steps ... - then I can skip to middle of the film in few moments....]

HD videos have minimum 6000kpbs, normally 8000kpbs and high quality 15 000kpbs or more.
I totally understand you and I already asked them the same question for 40PFL6605H/12 but they didn't answer. I think this is one of those unfixable problems, becuse they don't consider them as a problem. Maybe, they will implement it in new TV series (2013 models).
