Format TV disk on a PC

Hello,

If someone has an xxPFL4007 or 4017 or 4xx7 or pherhaps 5xx7 or something near this model with USB PVR.
Can you put your disk or USB key on a PC and say what kind of partition (EXT 2, EXT 3 or other) is it formated and also the names of directories which are created by the TV formating.
I want to try to format my USB disk on PC and create directories manualy because the TV don't wants to format any of my drives or keys.

I doubt that this experiment would be successful.

Your hard drive has more than 250GB?
Your USB key has more than 32GB and is fast enough?

Ok, connect one of them to the tv, switch to a digital channel from internal memory and press pause. What happened exactly?

It says that it don't want to format it. The disk is 80 Gb.
I think that if it is already formated and ready to use on TV, id don't matter if it is 80 or 250 Gb.

You should read the manual and go the described way:

What you need
To record TV programmes, do the following:
• Tune your TV to receive digital TV
channels (DVB broadcast or similar).
See Set up your TV > Channel
Settings > Automatic installation (Page
34).
• Make sure that your TV is connected to
the Internet through a high-speed
broadband connection. See Connect
your TV > Network and the Internet
(Page 52).
• Connect a USB 2.0 compatible hard
disk drive (HDD) with a minimum
capacity of 250 GB and a minimum
transfer speed of 30 megabytes per
second.
Note: You can use the same HDD to
record and Pause TV shows.

I know that but i wan to use my 80 Gb disk so i want the type of partition and the directories created by TV.

I respond myself because no response:
My 80 Gb disk has been formated by the TV after removing his partition.
The partition format of PFL4007 is linux XFS and directories
- recording-> Pvr (sub dir)
timeshiftbuff.tsc (file)
- videostore
are created.

I given to my PC formated disk the same UUID as the TV formated disk with xfs_admin but the tv don't reconise it as her disk.
It is impossible to use a PC formated disk because the tv use a system to reconise the disk, it is not the UUID (disk partition identification number), so the disk must have been formated on the same TV .
If anyone has a tip to use simply a USB key on PFL4007, it interrest me. I don't want to buy a 64 Gb USB3 key + hub to power supply it.
